The Eucharist is a “miracle” in which Jesus nourishes us with his life and satisfies the hunger in our hearts.” - Pope Francis

With additional specialized training, they may also serve the sick and homebound. To become an EMHC, individuals must first meet basic requirements, then complete thorough preparation, which includes a home study program, a meeting to review ministry guidelines, and hands-on training at the church.
Requirements include:

2.Fully initiated, practicing Catholic (baptized, confirmed, receiving the Holy Eucharist) and of good moral character.
3.Demonstrate a genuine reverence and respect for the Most Blessed Sacrament.
4.Participate regularly in the liturgical and sacramental life of the church.
5.Sufficient age and maturity (usually minimum of 18yo).
6.If married, be in a valid marriage recognized by the church.
