Faith Formation ​Parade of Saints

It has been a tradition here at St. Joseph for the Faith Formation students to present the Parade of Saints on the last Sunday of October at our 9AM Family Mass. We ask that each child pick a saint with which they can identify. For ex. St. Francis (animal lovers), St. Sabatian (sports), St. Cecelia (music), etc.
You can make from home or buy the Saint Outfit. Lots or ideas are online. Our Parade of Saints will be on Sunday, October 27 at the 9AM Mass with Faith Formation class afterwards.  We ask that the children meet in front of the church by 8:45 as they will process in with Fr. Ed.

After the procession, they will stand at the altar and read a small introduction of their saints. (see attached).  They will also sing the song, “This Little Light of Mine”    that they will practice in class. We will put the song on our web site under Faith Formation with the You Tube video of Jeff singing it, along with the form for the saints.

Our congregation looks forward to seeing the children and we thank you for allowing us to share this special occasion with them.

If your child has anxiety over this, please do not worry. We can have them practice in class and we can also step in to help at Mass. They do not have to present their saint information, but we would still like for them to participate in the Parade of Saints.

We would like the students to practice reading their Saint in class the Sunday before, Oct.20. Please have them bring a copy of the form with them that day.
We thank you for helping us with this wonderful way to learn about Saints. Please do not hesitate to ask any of the teachers for help. You are also welcome to take photos at Mass.
